Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) was officially licensed on March 2008 by the Government of Vietnam in Yen Phong industrial zone I, Yen Trung commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh province. The total investment was 1 billion dollas.

SEV specialized in manufacturing mobile phones and other high-tech equipment. Besides, SEV was evaluated on top companies which had modern working environment, beneficial salary, advancement opportunities and leading training system.

Samsung started building SEV factory on April 1st 2008. On April 10th 2009, SEV began producing and the first shipment lot was exported on April 15th 2009 in origin “Made in Vietnam by Samsung".

On October 2009, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung officially pressed the button on the opening ceremony of the manufacturing of cell-phones, telecommunications equipment and high-tech electronic components. The factory worked at a capacity of 1.5 million units per month.

As planned, the factory would reach at a capacity of 100 million units per year in 2012. Approximately 90 percent products would be exported around the world. Currently, SEV’s products are being exported to other countries in Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia and CIS (precursor was Soviet States).
